The Turkish businessman Muhsin Flag has made an offer to the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovichto buy Chelsea.
The value of the English Premier League club is around USD 4 billion. Bayrak, citing the Europa Press agency, said that they are in the “negotiation phase” and “soon the Turkish flag will fly in London“.
I have made the decision to sell. I think it’s the best for the clubfans, employees, as well as sponsors and partners,” Abramovich said in his public letter dated Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Two days later, Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak –who has large investments in London– has confirmed that it is close to its acquisition.
“We are negotiating the terms of the purchase of Chelsea with the lawyers of Roman Abramovich. We are in the negotiation phase of the signatures,” he told the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak.
Bayrak, president of AB Group Holding, also confirmed that they are “planning to sign soon” and that the Chelsea owners “find Turkey safe”, to sign the operation that would end Abramovich’s 19-year ownership.
Under the command of the Russian, Chelsea won five Premier League, five FA Cup, three League Cups, two Champions League and Europa League, and once the Club World Cup.
