Talsi NSS / “Krauzers” team won the first match of the “Elvi floorball league” men’s tournament “play-off” on Friday. Talsi floorball players beat Ķekavu 6: 3 (1: 1, 1: 1, 4: 1) at home, taking the lead 1-0 in the quarter-finals series until four victories.

Already in the 39th second, Klāvs Jansons reached 1: 0 in favor of the guests, but 24 seconds later Artis Raitums equalized the result. In the second period, Toms Bitmanis responded to the goal scored by Gints Klegers, but in the first minutes of the third third, Jānis’ control was canceled by Matīss Fogelis. In the last five minutes of regular time, Mariss Bergmanis, Dilans Kronentāls and Andrejs Šķerbergs scored for the home team, who took the victory for the people of Talsi.

Bitmanis stood out with the winners and three assists.

The other pairs will meet the winner of the regular championship Cēsis “Lekrings” with “Irlava”, the champion Kocēni “Rubene” with “Oxdog Ulbroka” / LU and “Valmiera” with “Lielvārde” / “FatPipe”.

In the series up to four victories of one team, the semi-finalists will be determined, in the series of the same length two teams will be announced, which will compete for bronze medals in Arena Riga next spring, as well as the two clubs that will compete for the big champions’ cup and gold prizes.

12 teams are fighting for medals in the men’s competition this season, but eight units are competing in the women’s competition.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2019/2020 season and the state of emergency declared in the country due to it, the Latvian champions and medalists remained unclear, but the last championship was jerked and with fewer playoffs for the same reason. The teams of Kocēni “Rubene” won in the final in Valmiera.
