Peak – Chairman of Komnas HAM Papua Representative Frits Ramandey also opened his voice regarding the attack that killed 8 employees of PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) in Puncak District, Papua. He said the attack was orchestrated by an armed criminal group (KKB) leader Aibon Kogeya.
“I’ve called Intan Jaya, I asked who the perpetrators were, the perpetrators led to the group led by Aibon Kogeya,” said Frits to reporters in Timika, Papua, Friday (4/3/2022).
Frits said this attack was also a clear violation of human rights (HAM). According to Frits, the motive for the KKB led by Aibon Kogeya was to carry out the attack as a form of protest against the Wabu block plan and as a response to the events in Ilaga.
“Then I asked the motive, first they did this as a protest against the wabu block plan,” said Frits.
“The second has to do with the incident at Puncak, they claimed it was indeed carried out by the Aibon Kogeya group, that’s the chronology,” he added.
As previously reported, the attack that killed eight PTT employees took place in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency. They include PTT employees, contractor employees and local guides.
It was also reported that the Papuan KKB had also been involved in a shootout with members of the TNI after killing eight PTT employees. One soldier suffered gunshot wounds in the incident.
“A TNI member named Pratu Herianto was grazed (a bullet) in the neck under his left ear,” said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf. Aqsa Erlangga in Jayapura, Friday (4/3).
A gun battle took place in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua at around 12.45 WITA, Thursday (3/3). The location of the gunfight was 15 kilometers from the location where 8 PTT employees were killed.
“The condition of the Raider soldier who was shot up to now is conscious,” said Aqsa.
