Tessy’s fate after being banned from appearing in women’s clothes on TV

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com– Comedian Tessy Srimulat revealed her life after the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) banned her for playing a female character.

As is known, KPI once issued an appeal that forbade all TV stations to display male figures in female style.

In fact, at that time the comedian named Kabu Basuki earned money from displaying female characters on stage which were identical to many agate rings.

Because of this, Tessy had lost many jobs both on television and from films.

“Really, it’s not going down anymore. It’s the KPI, I’m not allowed to wear women’s clothes,” said Tessy, quoted from YouTube Maia AlElDul Tv.

“My life at that time was like on TV, in movies and so on, no one wanted to use me,” he added.

Tessy lived a life without such a job for six years.

“It’s been six years since I died and I couldn’t get a job because of women’s clothes, (even though) they were originally men,” he joked.

In fact, at that time Tessy had to sell her house and car in order to continue living.

“The house is sold, the car is sold, there is no income at all (after) being banned by KPI,” said Tessy.

As previously reported, it was Tessy’s ban which made her feel stressed so she fell into drugs.

“Because after that incident I was stressed, frustrated and so on, I had the wrong relationship,” said Tessy, quoted from YouTube Trans 7 Official.

Tessy said she was saved by an offer to play in a film from a general.

At that time he was asked to play in the film 3 Choices of Life by one of his acquaintances, General Siswandi.

Although the film did not sell well, Tessy said she was very grateful because thanks to the film, her name was again trusted in the entertainment world.

“I feel grateful. By being appointed in the film 3 Choices of Life, I can be accepted again on TV, in entertainment,” he said.
