This Thursday, March 3, the Mayor’s Office of Medellín delivered a new positive balance on the vaccination plan against covid-19 in the territory. According to figures from the municipal administration, There are already more than two million citizens with complete vaccination schedules.
Thanks to the articulation between the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and the Health Provider Entities, 2,000,966 of people have a complete scheme against covid-19. The Secretary of Health of Medellín, Andree Uribe Montoya, reported that progress in vaccination has allowed occupancy levels in the city’s Intensive Care Units (ICU) to drop considerably.
“This has also allowed the occupation of COVID-19 in intensive care to be markedly reduced and that all people are recovering very quickly after receiving the doses of this vaccination,” explained the official.
“Very important, all the people who have their dose pending to complete schemes or to reinforce them that they approach the more than 50 points that we have enabled to carry out the vaccination process and guarantee that there will be no complications in any of infections”, added the Secretary of Health of Medellín.
Balance of vaccination against covid-19 in Medellín
According to the figures of the municipal administration, until last Wednesday, March 2, in the capital of Antioquia they had applied 1,964,898 first doses of the covid-19 vaccine, 2,000,966 complete regimens and 600,518 third dosesequivalent to an execution of 91.2% of the doses supplied by the national government.

Regarding the National Vaccination Plan, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported this Thursday that until last Tuesday, March 1, 85,911,088 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 had been distributed in the national territory.
Likewise, he pointed out that 77,655,719 have been applied, of which 35,233,790 correspond to first applications, 27,530,992 to second doses, 6,175,589 without single doses and 8,715,348 reinforcements. On the other hand, the Ministry of Health reported that on March 1, 158,660 vaccines against covid-19 were applied.
