Apple is going to announce new products next Tuesday. This way you can follow the Apple event live from the front row.

Of course, Apple’s loyal followers had already circled Tuesday, March 8, in red in their calendars. Next Tuesday, the first major Apple event of 2022 will take place, which has been given the name ‘Peek Performance’. As usual, millions of fans of the brand from all corners of the world will watch what Tim Cook and his followers have in store. Do you also want to be there? Then we have good news: the event will be easy and free to follow online for free.

What is Apple (probably) announcing?

You may first want to know if the event will be worth your time. A lot of information about the event has already leaked out over the past few weeks, so we actually already know more or less what Apple is going to announce. If you still managed to dodge all the rumors to be surprised, then we recommend that you read another article on TechPulse. Because there will be spoilers.

iPhone SE 3

In front of iPhone 14 it is of course much too early, but Apple does have exciting iPhone news on offer with the iPhone SE 3. The third generation of the more budget-friendly iPhone SE will be the cheapest 5G smartphone that Apple has launched to date. Under the motto ‘Peek Performance’, the iPhone SE 3 also gets an improved A15 chip. No major design changes will be made.

iPad Air

The iPad will also receive a new budget-friendly(er) option with the iPad Air 2022. It will broadly stick to the design of the 2020 version, although, as with the iPhone SE 3, we see a more powerful chipset and 5G support. There will also be a better camera for video calling with support for Center Stage, a feature that ensures that you are always in the center of the picture.

Mac Mini and MacBook Pro: with or without M2?

We are perhaps most curious about the Mac news that Apple will have to tell. The rumors are getting louder that Apple will announce its next-gen chipset M2, to which the title ‘Peek Performance’ may already subtly refer. The presentation of the M2 chip could then already be accompanied by a first M2 laptop, namely a 13-inch Macbook Pro† If Apple also launches a new Mac Mini, it will probably still have the M1 Pro/Max chip.

iOS 15.4: face recognition with mouth mask

In the shadow of the new hardware products, Apple will also launch a new version of iOS. The most notable novelty in iOS 15.4 is without a doubt that FaceID will be able to identify you from now on when you wear your mouth mask† Now that we are two years into the corona pandemic, this position comes nothing too soon.

Apple event: this is how you follow live

There are several ways to follow the Apple event live. Apple offers a live stream through its website, the Apple TV app and YouTube† If you are watching from Belgium, you must be ready by 7 pm. If we can give another good tip: set a reminder on YouTube, even if you were watching via a different channel. The video streaming app will then notify you when the live stream is about to begin.
