Boris Johnson accuses Russia of war crime in Ukraine and calls for UN vote

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal and urged UN member states to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Johnson made these statements in the House of Commons in London, where the Ukrainian ambassador was present, to whom the deputies gave a standing ovation.

“What we have already seen from the Vladimir Putin regime, in the use of the ammunition that they have already been dropping on innocent civilians, in my opinion already fully qualifies as a war crime,” the prime minister said.

The British government has been warning for days that Putin and his commanders could be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which has already opened an investigation into the invasion of Ukraine.
