Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (03/01/2022)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 7,632 tests were carried out and 1,938 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 1,938 new cases, 1,006 are from Montevideo, 247 from Canelones, 114 from Maldonado, 78 from Colonia, 61 from Paysandú, 53 from Rocha, 45 from San José, 43 from Florida, 39 from Lavalleja, 37 from Treinta y Tres, 32 from Salto, 31 from Artigas, 29 from Soriano, 29 from Tacuarembo, 28 from Cerro Largo, 24 from Rivera, 19 from Flores, 19 from Río Negro and 4 from Durazno.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 5,713,251 tests have been processed and 844,400 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 816,974 have already recovered.

Today, 6 deaths diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in our country (detailed table is attached). So far there are 6,991 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 20,435 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 116 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 18,386 correspond to health personnel. 18,067 of them have already recovered, 290 are suffering from the disease and 29 have died.

To date, all departments register active cases.
