He wrote on his Facebook page a few days ago that he “supports the operation of the Russian army, the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic.” PC Gamer† The message has since been taken offline, but Burkatovskiy left Wargaming the following day.
Wargaming, originally Belarusian, has a considerably large branch in the Ukrainian capital Kiev with more than 550 employees. The company’s headquarters has been in Cyprus since 2011.
Belarus is an ally of Russia and allows Russian troops to invade Ukraine through its territory.

“The safety of our employees is our top priority. We are currently committed to helping our colleagues and providing them with housing, early pay and travel money,” Wargaming wrote. Furthermore, the company stressed that Burkatovskiy’s personal opinion is “categorically not ours”.
Wargaming briefly shut down the ads for its World of Tanks when the invasion began. The game is now allowed to be advertised outside of Ukraine, in which players fight each other with historically accurate virtual tanks.
In addition, Wargaming donated about 900,000 euros to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
