70 years ago (February 29, 1952) the first blood donation campaign took place in Germany. Even if many people today cannot see blood and needles, almost half of all Germans have donated blood to save lives. And that’s a good thing: According to the DRK, 80 percent of Germans depend on a blood donation at least once in their lives.
An anniversary like this is a good opportunity to be a blood donor yourself. This week blood drives are taking place in the region:
District of Wuerzburg
- Wednesday (March 2nd): Randersacker – Sonnenstuhl sports facility (Am Sonnenstuhl 62) – 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
- Friday (March 4th): Thüngersheim – parish home Thüngersheim (Untere Hauptstr. 12) – 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
district of Kitzingen
- Friday (March 4th): Prichsenstadt – elementary school (Am Mühlseelein 3) – 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m
Main-Spessart district
- Thursday (03.03.): Marktheidenfeld – Catholic parish youth home St. Laurentius (Kolpingstraße 12) – 3:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
No blood donation campaigns are planned in the city of Würzburg this week, but a donation (after registration) is possible every Wednesday in the university clinic. All information is there HERE.
You can find all planned blood donation campaigns of the BRK HERE.
