e-health has its role to play!

DSIH, TUESDAY 01 MARCH 2022 Be the first to react

On March 17 and 18, the public interest group SIB is organizing the 10th Days of its Members in Saint-Malo. First presidential edition since the beginning of the health crisis and after the organizational transformation of the SIB, these tenth days will bring together health establishments, communities, employees and partners of the SIB around the challenges of responsible digital technology. Appointment made for DSIH.

The e-health sector is accelerating, driven in particular by the Ma Santé 2022 program, the “accelerating the digital shift in health” roadmap and the Ségur du Numérique program. The Covid-19 health crisis has greatly contributed to the explosion and generalization of certain digital uses by healthcare professionals and patient-users. But the climate emergency that our world is facing requires a radical change in lifestyles, consumption, work… and our digital uses.
This “dematerialized” digital world, essential for communicating, working and consuming, turns out to be much more tangible than we might think. Today, it absorbs 10% of the world’s electricity and represents nearly 4% of the planet’s carbon dioxide emissions. What is the degree of environmental and societal impact of digital technology? What are the digital strategies responsible for health and communities aimed at reducing this impact? Why should the consideration of climate change and sustainable development issues be even more obvious in the health sector and the public sector in general?

Responsible digital, an emergency

After looking at digital health through the prism of ethical issues during the 2017 edition and wondering about its contribution in terms of efficiency in 2019, this new edition of the SIB Members’ Days aims to shed light on the urgency of responsible digital technology. Guillaume Pitron, journalist, director, author of “The War of Rare Metals” and “Digital Hell. Voyage au bout d’un like” is the main witness of the event. He will present the results of his investigation conducted on four continents over two years. Céline Faivre, Deputy Director General and Delegate for Digital Strategies in the Brittany Region and Dominique Pon, Ministerial Head of Digital Health, will discuss responsible digital strategies and their major challenges.

Pragmatic examples

Since the commitment to responsible digital technology is no longer an option, these days will provide practical examples during the round table which will bring together: Philippe Derouette, Deputy Director of Strategy at the Responsible Digital Institute ( INR) around the eco-design of digital services; Nolwenn Febvre, president of the association “Les P’tits Doudous” and nurse anesthetist at the University Hospital of Rennes who will present digital therapy and circular financing for a more human digital; Frederick Marchand, CEO of Digital4better will talk about positive impact digital, which aims to respect people and the planet; Vincent Leroux, public health doctor at the Hôpitaux de Saint-Maurice will explain how the eco-design of episodes of care contributes to reducing the impact of digital health; Claudie David, Director of Innovation and Nicolas Jolivet, Head of the Cybersecurity and Data Protection BU at the SIB will speak on virtuous digital innovation and data protection and sovereignty, components of responsible digital.

Feedback and innovation

These days of exchanges will above all be moments of sharing and feedback that will give the floor to SIB members. Whether for GHTs around Sillage medical solutions, eDen, or the Magellan decision-making solution. The Intermed secure and national private network, the deployment of access control and workstation management, the cloud and collaborative uses, shared RSSI and DPO support. Innovation projects around the Reg-Law digital register in the context of care without consent, artificial intelligence at the service of pharmacists with DispensIAtion, population responsibility with Selfie Santé, the operational use of opendata with PorTreA (Territorialized portrait of the e-administrative relationship), …
