4.50 p.m .: New vaccination centers for the city and district of Würzburg were opened
The vaccination centers in the city and district of Würzburg have moved. In the city area, the vaccination center is now located in the post office building, Bahnhofplatz 2. The vaccination center in the district has moved from Margetshöchheim to the i-Park in Klingholz, house number 17, Giebelstadt.
According to a spokesman for the city of Würzburg, the new vaccination center on the first floor of the high-rise building at Würzburg’s main train station will replace the temporary location at the Handelshof in Lengfeld. From Monday to Thursday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., around 500 vaccinations could be carried out here every day, it said. In the press release, municipal officer Wolfgang Kleiner said: “There is no need to make an appointment in advance. At the end of this week, the new vaccine Nuvaxovid (Novavax) will also be added to the range.” The center with four vaccination booths will continue to be supplemented by mobile teams in the city and district, vaccinations by the general practitioners or vaccination consultations at the weekend in the town hall arcades.
According to the district office, the move in the Würzburg district was necessary because the Margarethenhalle Margetshöchheim, in which the vaccination center was located for three months, is now to be used again as an event and multi-purpose hall, according to the district office. Accordingly, the property in Giebelstadt is now permanently available
