Sophie Marceau: discover the trailer for I Love America

Sophie Marceau is back! After LOL and An encountershe reunited with director Lisa Azuelos for I Love America, an original Prime Video film, to be discovered on March 11 on the streaming platform. This time, the French actress decides to change her life, direction Los Angeles, as we can discover in the trailer for the comedy.

La Boum, Happy Easter, Braveheart, L’Étudiante, James Bond: the world is not enough…: since her debut at barely 14 years old, in 1980, Sophie Marceau has been the poster child for many successes, in very different genres. It is in a new romantic comedy that Prime Video subscribers will be able to find her from March 11, for an original Amazon film, available only on the streaming platform. And I Love America seems to bring together all the ingredients to allow the French actress to burst the screen, playing a woman who decides to change her life by going to Los Angeles to find love there. Obviously, it’s far from over…

Sophie Marceau in a film by Lisa Azuelos, it’s now a trilogy. After the successes of LOL (2009) and An encounter (2014), the actress and the director therefore meet to I Love America. This time, the actress plays Lisa, a woman who finds herself alone, while her grown-up children live far from her, and she has just lost her famous mother, who has always been absent for her. So to find a little light, what better than to go out in the sun? Direction Los Angeles, with inevitably the song of Patrick Juvet, of the same title as the film, in a corner of the head. And Lisa’s American dream is to find love. For this, she will be able to count on the help of her best friend, Luka, who lives there and runs a drag queens bar. But any resemblance to existing people is not at all coincidental…

Sophie Marceau discovers dating sites

It will probably not have escaped you that the first name of the character played by Sophie Marceau, Lisa, is quite simply the same as the director, Lisa Azuelos, also co-screenwriter of I Love America. And you may not have known it, but Lisa Azuelos is the daughter of Marie Laforêt, famous singer and actress who died in 2019. The film’s script is therefore not a mere coincidence, and the mother/daughter relationship, at the center of the plot, is therefore inspired by autobiographical elements. The comic aspect perhaps a little less, when Lisa, motivated by Luka, decides to register on a dating site to try to find a match for her. The problem is that while she searches for Louboutins, she only ends up with flip flops. Which will inevitably produce some powerful scenes and lines, as we can already discover in the trailer for the film, finally unveiled by Prime Video:

find I Love America exclusively on Prime Video from March 11. At the moment, the streaming platform is offered as a pack with RMC Sport for only 14 euros per month, instead of 24.99 euros per month.
