Ukraine Claims to Kill 4,300 Russian Troops, Really?

Ukraine claims to have killed 4,300 Russian troops since the start of the Moscow invasion. However, the claim is difficult to independently verify. Photo/REUTERS

KIEV Ukraine made a sensational claim, that of having killed 4,300 soldiers Russia since the beginning of the Moscow invasion. This claim was made by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar.

The deputy minister’s claim which was uploaded on his Facebook page on Sunday (27/2/2022) is difficult to independently verify.
Moreover, Russia has never announced the death of its soldiers in military operations in neighboring countries.

Malyar said the Moscow soldier’s published death toll was being clarified.

In addition, Malyar, as quoted ReutersMonday (28/2/2022), added that Russian troops lost about 146 tanks, 27 military aircraft and 26 helicopters.

On the other hand, Ukraine’s Health Ministry revealed that nearly 200 Ukrainians have been killed since Russia launched its offensive earlier this week.

Health Minister By Liashko said three children were among the 198 people killed. Meanwhile, 1,115 people were injured, 33 of whom were children.
