A drunk driver caused a self-accident on the A1 motorway near Islikon on Saturday evening. No one was injured and the man had to hand in his driver’s license.
A 55-year-old driver was driving on the A1 motorway in the direction of Zurich shortly before 7:30 p.m. At Islikon he collided with the central barrier and came to a standstill after around 150 meters in the fast lane.
Nobody got hurt. There was property damage of several thousand francs. The fast lane had to be closed for about an hour and a half while the accident was being recorded.
Because the breath alcohol test revealed a value of 0.48 mg/l for the Swiss, his driver’s license was confiscated by the road traffic office.
