Military Ukraine claims to have captured around 200 soldiers Russia with bad weaponry and allowed them to call their parents.
This was conveyed by the defense official at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States, Major General Borys Kremenetsky.
“We captured about 200 Russian soldiers, some of them 19 years old, completely untrained, poorly equipped,” Kremenetsky said. CNN on Sunday (27/2).
He also said Russian soldiers were allowed to contact their parents. In addition, the Ukrainian military provided food and water to captured Moscow troops.
However, CNN could not verify Kremenetsky’s statement regarding the arrest.
Kremenetsky admitted that his party continues to cooperate with the United States Ministry of Defense. In addition, he also continued to call for more assistance to the Ukrainian military.
“There is a list of important requirements, and we still need more help. I can guarantee that what we received has been used properly,” he said.
Ukraine is now under siege by Russian troops after President Vladimir Putin declared a military operation to the Donbas, eastern Ukraine, which is controlled by separatist groups.
The conflict then spread. Moscow troops continued to move and began to enter the capital, Kiev and now Kharkiv. Battles between Russian and Ukrainian troops were unavoidable.
