The White hai gets ready for winter every year in late summer. When it measures three meters, it migrates to the Mediterranean Sea, where it eats mammals such as dolphins or fish to stock up. Due to climate change, human sharks will soon be leaving their territory and moving further north, an expert told the British “Express” explained.

Chris Fischer, founder and expedition leader of the shark search organization Ocearch, explained why the great white shark leaves the warm regions. In the spring and summer, the water would get too warm, he said. “They like cold water. They like water that’s around 15 degrees Celsius. That’s why they’re being pushed out of the Mediterranean because it’s too hot there, and they’re moving in northern latitudes where there will be seals,” Fischer explained.

It is moving north to areas where seals live. In late summer it forages in the waters around Great Britain, Ireland, the western European mainland, Denmark, southern Norway and northern France. Despite this fact, people need not fear a shark attack. They have an “incredible ability to distinguish between us and a real marine mammal,” Fischer said. Great white sharks are rarely sighted in the UK.
