Tottenham Hotspur beat Leeds United 4-0 in continuation Premier League. Manager Antonio Conte feel his style of play begin to work.
Leeds host Tottenham at Elland Road, Saturday (26/2/2022) in the continuation of the Premier League competition. The hosts were beaten 0-4.
Tottenham’s first goal was scored by Matt Doherty, who took advantage of Ryan Sessegnon’s pass. Then, followed by three other goals from Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane, and Son Heung-min.
After the game, Conte was very happy with the way his team played. Especially in the first goal, when Doherty scored from Sessegnon’s pass.
Both are Tottenham wing backs, who play in Conte’s 3-4-3 scheme. The Italian manager’s playing style focuses on the movement of the ball driven by his wingbacks.
And Doherty’s goal on goal Leeds United, thanks to Sessegnon’s assist, delighted Conte. He admits that the game system is starting to work well in Tottenham Hotspur.
“To make one full-back and another full-back score goals, this is a sign of my system. It’s the first time. It means the work is starting to work,” Conte said, reported by the Standard.
“Today we played a very good game, good performance, good football. But, what I want to see today is the right spirit, character and desire to fight, to win the ball, to win duels, against a deep team. This kind of situation is very good.”
“They keep chasing and pressing a lot. They duel in every area, every zone of the field,” he explained.
Victory makes Tottenham Hotspur now has 42 points from 25 matches, and is in 7th position Premier League standings. Temporary Leeds United stuck in 16th place with 23 points.
