No points after a long back and forth for HSG Holding Graz. After 55 balanced minutes of play, Graz lost 24:28 at the end. The fourth Styrian derby of the season is scheduled for next Saturday in Köflach.
After a 0:2 draw by Bregenz, Graz got back into the game after four minutes of play and fought a heated exchange of blows against the Festspielstadt-dwellers in the first half, in which neither team was able to break away. The score was 12:12 at the break.
The second half also started at eye level, neither of the two teams managed to break away. Although Bregenz Handball repeatedly took the lead with two goals, Graz countered and scored the equalizer again. In the last five minutes, the air was out, instead of the 23:23 equalizer, the Bregenz handball team countered and made it 5:0. Run 22:27 in the lead. Coach Rene Krammer took the third time-out.
“We played great in the first 55 minutes of the game today, but unfortunately we lost concentration at the end and we carelessly missed chances. The game was a good answer to Krems, even though we didn’t win, we showed good handball today,” said Graz captain Ramon Raschid.
