The objective is to apply the Political Bureau directive 48-CT/TW of October 22, 2010 (10e mandate) on strengthening the leadership of the Party in crime prevention and control in the new situation, as well as the National Crime Prevention and Control Strategy for the period 2016 – 2025, orientations by 2030.
On January 28, 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communication released Plan 299 to improve capabilities for supervision, inspection, handling administrative violations, preventing and combating violations of law and cybercriminality.
The 299 Plan also aims to educate agencies, organizations, and individuals about preventing and combating legal violations and cybercrime.
In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communication has assigned specific tasks to each agency. Its Information Security Department will chair and coordinate computer security incident response activities nationwide.
Under Plan 299, the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) is required to strengthen domain name management, coordination in handling violations, and provide domain name information to authorities…
In terms of the global cybersecurity index, in 2021, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) ranking, Vietnam rose to 25e place among the 194 countries and territories on the list. It was ranked 7e in Asia-Pacific and 4e in Southeast Asia.
