The new car bonuses are coming, but they will be completely different from the old ones because the Government has all new priorities.
The 2022 auto bonuses will be very different in every respect than the old ones. They are certainly wider, more interesting and more concretely closer to the needs of families. If the first wave of car bonuses basically had a single purpose, namely to push the electric car, this time everything changed.
First of all, there are many doubts about the electric car because the transition to electricity will cost as much as 70,000 jobs and the government certainly doesn’t like such a prospect these days. But the old auto bonuses had also been prepared at a time when there was a very strong confidence to be able to get out of the crisis in a very short time. It was believed that once the covid was over, the economy would literally be resurrected and the restart would be marked by substantial growth. But the terrible inflation first and the international tensions over Ukraine then are freezing this prospect and the new bonuses take this into account.
Not just electric: wider aids
In fact, these new bonuses will not only be for the electric, but also for diesel, petrol, methane or LPG cars. The biggest discount will be electric cars and will be equal to € 9000. Then the discount gradually decreases the greater the pollution produced by the vehicle. But the new fascias are structured in such a way that even a diesel or petrol car can benefit from the advantage. This is a very substantial auto bonus because this new measure is to be considered structural.
It lasts 8 years and is proportional to income
In fact, it starts in 2022 and even ends in 2030 with a billion euros allocated for each year. Therefore the government has foreseen the beauty of 8 billion euros for this measure. If the old car is scrapped, the discount obviously increases compared to the purchase without scrapping. But there is also another important news. In fact, numerous rumors speak of a mechanism of proportionality to income in order to help families most in difficulty.

But this new bonus will also be accompanied by measures to promote the energy transition and for install the charging stations of the electric car without which any transition to the electric seems quite unrealistic. But how will the mechanism that provides for proportionality to income be structured? There are currently no details on this aspect.
