The embargo on Elden Ring reviews from FromSoftware developers expired at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The release that fell tonight was preceded by a huge wave of expectations, which, according to the first verdicts, were met and probably even exceeded. After all, we also reached almost the highest mark, and we definitely agree with the general statement that FromSoftware specialists have taken their work to the next level. Therefore, it is not surprising that Elden Ring attacks one of the best rated games in history and only with exceptional lower marks holds the soulslike genre very high.
Let’s start with the rating aggregator Metacritic, Elden Ring, with its current overall score of 97, would take 6-25. a place where other titles with the same score are located. In front of Elden Ring, in terms of average rating, only the titles The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a rating of 99, resp. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, Grand Theft Auto IV (represented twice) and SoulCalibur with a rating of 98. it will maintain its presence on the upper floors of the averaged tables and the game will continue to be described as one of the best in this respect.
Similar numbers come from the aggregator OpenCritic, where the vast majority of media penetrate, but there are also ratings from other magazines that complement the overall view. Elden Ring, with a rating of 96 on this portal, therefore took 2nd place for Super Mario Odyssey and also defeats The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA V. However, it is important to note that the review is not intended to confirm general assumptionwhat the game is like, which naturally applies to both low and high marks. Moreover, amusing statistics cannot be interpreted as meaning that Elden Ring is one of the best games history, because it is a very subjective quantity and no ultimate evaluation can be applied just because of how many genres there are and on the other hand the tastes of individual players.
Nevertheless, there is no doubt that the Elden Ring has succeeded and it is not very likely that the pleased majority will not get what the developers promised. It is only appropriate to be wary of the PC version, which caused some reviewers wrinkles due to insufficient optimization, or to prepare for the fact that the open world is a great benefit, but in some places can have a negative effect on the overall atmosphere of the game. On the other hand, the developers will release a Day 1 patch, which they are already talking about specifically, and which solves some of the problems, so the final form of the game can be even better.
