Indonesian Ulema Council (MULTI-FUNCTION) urges the United Nations (PBB) in order to intervene to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Deputy Chairperson of the MUI, Anwar Abbas said the political friction between Russia and Ukraine made the Indonesian people anxious. According to him, apart from taking lives, the war will also have an impact on the world economy.
“The MUI urges the United Nations and other world institutions to intervene to prevent hostilities and ongoing wars between the two countries,” Anwar told reporters. CNNIndonesia.comFriday (25/2).
Anwar said the public clearly did not expect the adverse effects of the Russian -Ukrainian war.
According to him, the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through political channels and negotiations will have a better impact on the civil and military societies of the two countries as well as the world’s population.
According to him, if the war is not stopped quickly, other big countries such as China and the United States will not remain silent.
“America and its allies as well as China and the countries in its group on the other side will certainly not remain silent,” said Anwar.
MUI then invites all parties to find concrete actions that can be a solution to the armed conflict in the former Soviet Union.
According to him, this must be done immediately in order to prevent the death toll from increasing and the world situation getting worse.
“The MUI calls on the United Nations and other institutions and the world community to act as soon as possible to prevent things that we don’t want,” said Anwar.
