The political scientist stated in the program that we cannot yet determine the consequences, because the whole solution is in the hands of one mentally intact person and we cannot predict what his actions will be next. “When we saw the Security Council meeting, we saw Putin forming a circle of people around him who, along with Putin, would be responsible for committing an international crime – an invasion of another country.”
“As far as his intentions go, it’s hard to say that it reminds me of one of Stalin’s saying, ‘How far my tanks go, my system goes so far,'” I’m afraid Putin also has a military solution in his head because he has become a man who is not ‘worthy of a handshake’ in the eyes of the world community and is therefore cornered, pushing the international situation into the corner. The saying – “The power of the fist” becomes the determining factor, “the political scientist continued to describe the situation eloquently.
Daukšt also drew attention to the fact that while the sanctions will not affect a large part of the Russian population, but will be directed only against the Russian elite, which the ordinary people in Russia do not see, the impact on these sanctioned persons will be very limited.
“Sanctions against Russia’s top leadership and Putin’s immediate circle have the opposite effect – it is understood that the leader of this herd needs to consolidate, because only he will be our defender. It was good for Putin to show that not only he alone, but everyone will be accountable to the world community for both the crimes and all the other activities in Ukraine. “
