Knowing that, Salvatore Polizzi, owner of Tony’s Pizzeria in Bushwick, collected material from the sidewalk and street at three separate locations: the corner of Knickerbocker and Myrtle, Myrtle and Wyckoff, and Myrtle and Broadway. He sent the samples to Schneider Laboratories Global, a testing lab in Richmond, Virginia, which confirmed what he suspected: the paint that was peeling off those platforms had lead in it.
