On February 9, an elected opposition representative from Pierrefitte (Seine-Saint-Denis) asked Mayor Michel Fourcade (PS), in a letter, to “reimburse the municipality of the sums” linked to a “misuse” of his professional vehicle. According to The Parisianthe total amount would amount to €1,867.52 for a period running from April 2019 to September 2021. An amount which would include toll costs, petrol and the installation of a tow ball on the vehicle.
A provisional amount
And Romain Potel affirms that this amount is only provisional. Documents prior to 2019 could increase the rating.
“When I’m mayor, I’m there 24 hours a day. On vacation, I can be reached, I work…”, defended Michel Fourcade to the daily. attribution of a service vehicle to the mayor must be the subject of an annual deliberation. However, according to the opposition, it did not take place during the present mandate. The city councilor could therefore be forced by the regional chamber of accounts to repay the benefits unduly received. No legal proceedings are foreseen in this case.
