Jan Reent Schiffer takes over.
(BZ). Effective immediately, the Müllheim tax office has a new manager: Jan-Reent Schiffer, born in Münster in 1972. This was announced by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Finance. This officially fills the position of Franz-Josef Brockmeier, who retired in December 2021.
As can be seen from the press release, Jan-Reent Schiffer entered the state service in 2002 after studying law and passing the second state law examination. Initially, he worked in the federal building department at the regional finance office in Karlsruhe and was responsible, among other things, for personnel matters and training and further education. In 2012 he was appointed permanent representative of the head of department at the tax office in Emmendingen, five years later in the same position at the tax office in Freiburg-Stadt. “Jan-Reent Schiffer has known the Baden-Württemberg financial administration for a good twenty years,” State Secretary for Finance Gisela Splett is quoted as saying in the press release. He has all the necessary skills for the responsible task. Since the inauguration could not take place in person due to Corona, she transmitted her wishes to the new head of office via video conference. She also thanked Franz-Josef Brockmeier for his many years of service and wished him all the best for his retirement.
The Müllheim tax district includes a large part of Markgräflerland, a total of 14 municipalities in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district and three municipalities in the Lörrach district with around 116,000 inhabitants.
