Trivial creates no attraction. Especially not for alpinists with a certain claim. Marc-André Leclerc is only inspired by the most demanding, almost insurmountable routes on vertical flanks. Since the Canadian alpinist prefers to travel solo and doesn’t attach importance to staging, he masters almost incomprehensible challenges largely under the radar of the public. Leclerc likes to do without ropes and doesn’t even have a cell phone with him, even if one can be very useful, sometimes life-saving, especially in extreme situations. Not to mention the benefits in terms of feeding social media. Finally, sponsors should also be served. If a director comes along with the intention of packing life and work into a documentary, then hardly any alpinist will wave him off. Leclerc, however, is shy.
