The German football club Schalke 04 removes the name of main sponsor Gazprom from the shirt because of the war in Ukraine unleashed by Russia. The Russian natural gas company has been the main lender of the club from Gelsenkirchen for years, which was relegated from the Bundesliga last season. For now, only the name Schalke 04 is printed on the front of the blue shirt.
