Toni Nadal believes that Rafael Nadal needs to win more Grand Slams to equal the all-time Grand Slam record and be considered a GOAT. Nadal, 35, claimed a record 21st Grand Slam title after beating Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open final.
Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are in second place with 20 Grand Slams each. “I don’t think so. Djokovic is the favorite for Wimbledon. At Roland Garros, I expect Rafael to win. I don’t know anything more about the US Open.
The reality is that it’s getting harder and harder for them to win a Slam,” Toni told La Vanguardia.
Toni doesn’t believe that 21 Slam title will be enough for Rafa to be the GOAT: I do not believe it.

Nadal is a fan favorite everywhere
Nadal receives strong support everywhere, while Djokovic does not.
Despite this, Djokovic has managed to win 20 Grand Slams. “A lot of people say you need a good environment to win, right? Well, allow me to question that. Look what Djokovic has won when his environment is what it is,” said Toni.
“In any case, the Nadal family is normal and always has been, starting from the time my brother Miguel Angel played for FC Barcelona. We have always stayed away from extravagance.” Nadal made the most of Djokovic’s absence at the Australian Open.
Djokovic, who was in Belgrade at the time of the Australian Open final, admitted that he found it difficult to watch the match between Nadal and Medvedev. “It wasn’t easy for me to see the final, I had to stay at home due to the circumstances, although I didn’t want to see it.
My wife and son watched. I didn’t watch the whole game, we also did other things in the house. I was neutral – whoever won, I lost, right? (Laugh). I didn’t want to get too emotionally involved, I wanted to be on the pitch,” Djokovic told RTS.
