The sports court of the West German Football Association (WDFV) will now deal with the scandal at the regional league match. It is quite conceivable that the game will be counted for Münster – but a replay is not ruled out either. Both clubs are direct rivals fighting for promotion to the 3rd division. The Essen team still have a five-point lead over Munster and Fortuna Cologne. However, with a game less, the Cologne team can get up to two points behind RWE.
