Presentation
Africas is an international journal of the history of African worlds, which focuses on periods prior to the 19th century, in dialogue with other disciplines such as archaeology, philology, anthropology or linguistics.
The journal’s main field of study is “ancient” Africa, without neglecting the connections and bridges with the contemporary world.
Published by the Institute of African Worlds (IMAF – UMR 8171), Africas brings together articles written by young researchers and confirmed specialists. Once a year, it offers a thematic file, as well as articles in continuous flow (varia, debates and readings, sources) to be found in the “Éclectics” collection.
