GenPI.co Bali – The public is asked to be vigilant by the Indonesian Infection Control Association (Perdalin) because the symptoms caused by the Omicron and Delta variants of the Covid-19 virus are the same.
Secretary General Perdalin dr. Ronald Irwanto, Sp.PD-KPTI, FINASIM explained that there are no different safety and security protocols for the two variants of the Corona virus.
In a way, the two types of transmission are both from droplets, so that regardless of the type, the public is asked not to take it lightly.
“Actually, the symptoms are almost the same, including fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, loss of smell or shortness of breath. Actually, there are no special Omicron symptoms, almost the same,” said Irwanto.
Irwanto also denied that there was a difference in cough between the symptoms of the Covid-19 variants. According to him, all these symptoms can be different depending on the person who has it.
“Omicron cough, Delta cough, flu cough, Alpha cough, cannot be distinguished. Don’t be influenced by the issue of coughing. In this era, as soon as symptoms appear, swab immediately appears,” he said again.
The Omicron variant itself is said to have no symptoms of decreased sense of smell. In fact, many patients with anosmia.
“Experts have never stated that Omicron does not experience anosmia, many also experience it. Symptoms can all be similar, both Delta and Omicron, can appear at any time,” he said again.
