According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Omicron BA2 sub-variant does not “cause a more serious form” of Covid than BA1, the original strain of Omicron, reports TF1 Info.
Good news on the front of Covid. According to Maria Van Kerkhove, technical manager of theWHO about the Covid-19, Omicron BA2 born “cause no more severe form” of the virus that variant BA1currently dominant in many parts of the world.

Asked during a question-and-answer session organized on social networks by the WHO, the epidemiologist indicated that there was no “difference in terms of severity between BA1” and “BA2 and therefore a similar level of severity in terms of risk of hospitalization”.
