Layers of the Atmosphere and Their Functions that are Vital to Life

JAKARTA – Layer atmosphere and its function is vital for life in Earth . Without this atmosphere, there would most likely be no life.

The atmosphere is the layer of air that protects the earth. If this earth does not have an atmosphere, there will be damage and irregularity so that the process of life on earth will be disrupted.

Reporting from The UCAR Center For Science Education, the atmosphere consists of 6 layers namely the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, ionosphere, and exosphere. The following are the layers of the atmosphere and their functions, among others:

1. Troposfer
The mixture of gases in the Troposphere layer is the best for sustaining life on earth. In this layer occurs weather, changes in temperature, wind, humidity pressure that is felt every day.

In this layer weather events occur, such as rain, wind, snow, dry season, and so on. This layer supports human life.

2. Stratosphere
The stratosphere is the second layer of the atmosphere. The thickness of this layer is about 15 km to 40 km from the earth’s surface.

This layer is where the plane flies. The stratosphere also contains ozone, so it is also known as the ozone layer. This ozone layer absorbs radiation from ultraviolet light.

3. Mesosphere
The mesosphere is the third layer of the atmosphere. The function of the mesosphere layer, namely as a layer to reflect radio waves.
