- Cameron Monaghan, Lilly Krug, Frank Grillo, Sasha Luss and John Malkovich star in this story
The Spanish filmmaker louis prietowho has worked on series like ‘White Lines’ or the movie ‘Kidnapped’ directs this thriller written by David Loughery (‘Obsessed’, ‘Assault on the money train’.
Cameron Monaghan (‘Gotham’, ‘Shameles’), Lilly Krug (Cevery breath you give), Frank Grillo (‘Avengers: Endgame’), Sasha Luss (‘Valerian and the city of a thousand planets’) and John Malkovich (‘Dangerous friendships’) are the protagonists of this story of passion, love and disappointment with a frenetic pace and that maintains the tension until the last second of footage.
Chris (Monaghan) is a guy who just got divorced and lives in a mansion in the mountains somewhere in Montana. He knows Sky (Circle), an imposing woman in a local mall, and they both feel a great connection. However, Chris begins to suspect something is wrong when Sky’s roommate turns up dead. From here Chris will be immersed in a plot that he did not expect.
These are the words of the filmmaker about this project: “As soon as I read the script I began to imagine the challenges and creative possibilities that The Deception offered. It seemed very interesting to me to start the film by considering the connection between the characters and the passion of their budding romance and then turn it into a thriller that would hook the audience , and when we learned that John Malkovich and Frank Grillo were joining Lilly Krug and Cameron Monaghanit was very clear to me that we were facing a very special film. [···] I am very happy with the result: the film is like a roller coaster that gradually accelerates until a tremendous end“.
“Working with Luis Prieto has been wonderful. He is a filmmaker with an independent spirit and has given the scenes an air that is somewhere between the ‘Misery’ and ‘A Small Favor’ movies.”assured the actor John Malkovich about the director.
