In a massive way, parents take their children to be vaccinated – Diario La Tribuna

On Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20, a mass vaccination day against COVID-19 was carried out in different parts of the capital, for girls and boys between 5 and 11 years of age, without restrictions.

Mothers and fathers went to the various pediatric vaccination posts located in public places in Tegucigalpa, where health and support personnel worked in an organized and effective manner to vaccinate as many as possible.

The inoculation of Honduran children began in January and to date a total of 58,754 girls and boys have been vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide.

The vaccination of children between 5 and 11 years old began yesterday in San Pedro Sula, Cortés, while in the rest of the health regions children between 10 and 11 years old are being vaccinated.

324,000 doses of the pediatric vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer have arrived in Honduras. The government purchased vaccines for 1.3 million children and the total number of doses is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of the year.

The Secretaries of Education and Health coordinate activities at all levels, so that schools are in turn vaccination posts, allowing every child enrolled to be a vaccinated child.
