VIVA – Various ways have been taken by the government to boost the automotive industry, one of which is providing incentives PPnBMor the sales tax on luxury goods which was imposed during March-December 2021.
Especially vehicles that utilize local components at least 80 percent. Where at the initial stage the incentive was only valid for cars with engines up to 1,500cc, then expanded to 2,500cc engine capacities.
There were 29 new cars that enjoyed the PPnBM discount last year. Although it is effective in increasing people’s purchasing power for new cars, starting in 2022 this incentive is no longer valid.

So that the prices of cars that had received a tax cut have increased to tens of millions of rupiah. One of the brands that has raised the price tag for its products this year is Toyota.
Previously, almost all Toyota models enjoyed PPnBM incentives, such as Avanza-Veloz, Raize, Rush, Vios, Yaris, Sienta, Fortuner, Kijang Innova. However, this year only a few get the luxury tax discount.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK) Number 5 of 2022, concerning PPnBM on the delivery of taxable goods classified as luxury in the form of certain motorized vehicles borne by the government this year’s budget.
