Sandy Walsh Celebrates Victory in Javanese

Candidates for naturalization Indonesian National team, Sandy Walshusing Javanese vocabulary when showing photos of the celebration of victory in the Belgian league.

Walsh, who currently plays for KV Mechelen, helped the team win 2-1 over Antwerp FC. The 26-year-old scored an assist which led to Mechelen’s second goal.

The man who had strengthened the Dutch national team in the age group of 15 to 20 showed off photos of celebration with his colleagues.

Walsh uses English as well as a mixture of Indonesian and Javanese.

“Fight Together, Win Together … Win Slick Yoh Iso Yoh,” Walsh wrote on social media accounts, both Twitter and Instagram.

The phrase ‘Yoh Iso Yoh’ recently became popular because it was used as an encouragement to the PSIS Semarang club when Pratama Arhan was known to be transferred to Japanese club Tokyo Verdy. This phrase is also the hallmark of the PSIS club.

Walsh’s upload also received a standing ovation from Indonesian netizens who responded with various comments, either in Indonesian or in Javanese.

Walsh has Indonesian blood from his mother. In an interview with CNNIndonesia.com, Walsh once mentioned his grandfather from Surabaya and his grandmother from Malang.

Along with the ongoing naturalization process, Walsh admits that he is starting to get serious about learning Indonesian. Walsh stated that he had studied since six months ago when he immediately knew Shin Tae Yong wanted him to join the Indonesian national team.

Walsh’s naturalization process was discussed by PSSI and Kemenpora two weeks ago. Menpora Zainudin Amali also promised to speed up the process.
