Jack Wilshere takes a rather unconventional approach to boosting his career. The former Arsenal pro has signed a multi-month contract with Aarhus GF.
The Danish Superligaen will be joined by 34-time England international Jack Wilshere, who, according to official information, will initially sign a contract with Aarhus GF until the summer. The cooperation includes an option for another season.
“He’s in good physical shape but obviously he’s still lacking some combat training. That will come and we look forward to seeing him in the white shirt when he’s settled in well,” said Aarhus sporting director Inge Björnebye.
Until recently, Wilshere was under contract with English second division club AFC Bournemouth, who brought him out of the club last winter but then did not extend the half-year contract. Wilshere is known to the general public from his time at Arsenal FC, for which he played a total of 198 competitive games.
Wilshere, 30, says it’s “a new challenge for me. I’m at a point in my career where I need to get back on track after a difficult time, and AGF has given me that opportunity.”
