Yutz. Négociales challenge at the IUT: deal done!

One hour to learn about a product or service; ten minutes to convince a professional jury and win the sale. The formula of the Négociales remains invariably the same. For years, this French-speaking commercial negotiation challenge has been stopping off at the IUT of Thionville-Yutz where 2nd year co-tech students are automatically registered.

It’s not a punishment, more of an opportunity to perform or to reassure yourself, it depends. “Some students are apprehensive, others go there without trembling: all the scenarios exist but the purpose remains the same: to train in commercial negotiation in conditions close to reality”, summarizes Saïda Nouiri.

Become known

For this return to a certain normality, the IUT succeeded in mobilizing about fifty professionals to audit the young people. Salespeople, real estate agents, business leaders, bankers… The panel is wide; some work in Luxembourg. For students, this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate what they are worth in front of people capable of recruiting them for an internship, training or even a job.

“Most of our second year progress towards a professional license which is done alternately and not all of them have yet found a company. Today, with a good performance, there is plenty to get known,” continues Saïda Nouiri. Conversely, more and more companies are taking advantage of this competition to improve their image and attract future employees or simply to network.

The best students will be able to participate in the national finals of the Négociales on March 23 and 24.
