SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Police posthumously recognized detectives of Dominican origin Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, killed in the line of duty in the Harlem sector of Manhattan.

Similarly, he recognized Lieutenant Colonel Miguel Antonio Paulino Castro, former president of “The New York International Officers Organization” (FOP Lodge 920), who died as a result of COVID-19.

The honors to the agents were made during a mass at the headquarters of the institution of public order, in which the dedication, courage and vocation of the Dominicans during the time they fulfilled their police duty in New York were recognized.

The liturgical act was attended by a commission from FOP Lodge 920, headed by Yeana Lahoz (widow) Paulino; Cristian Peña, Vice President of International Affairs of the FOP Lodge; Miguel López Rodríguez, director of Public Relations of that entity, and Jennese Paulino, representative of the Dominican consulate in New York.

Miguel López Rodríguez, director of Public Relations FOP920, thanked the gesture on behalf of the family of Miguel Antonio Paulino and the entity he represents.

“We want to thank Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, for having sent a commission headed by the director of International Affairs of the National Police to New York City, to accompany the relatives of detectives of Dominican origin Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, who lost their lives on January 21, a fact that fills all of us who are linked to law enforcement agencies with pain,” he said.
