Disagree with the criticism
The TV company Discovery, which is behind the Norwegian version of the program, disagrees with the participant’s criticism.
– We think the message about eating fruit and vegetables comes out quite well in the series, but the theme does not come up in every episode, says communications consultant Ola-Magnus Svihus.
According to him, Discovery can not go out with the complete meal plan because it violates the so-called format owner’s terms. Svihus states that the participants had a daily intake of between 1600 and 2200 calories, and that the diet could be adapted “to achieve their goals”.
In several episodes, it appears that participants are hungry and struggling to complete training sessions. Christer Falck expresses this in particular, and therefore had his diet plan adjusted by the series’ nutritionist.
– It was important for us to be able to offer good solutions and adaptations to individual needs. Our opinion is that the participants succeeded in finding balance, and that they got a good grip on the scheme as they got started, says Svihus.
Agnete Husebye emphasizes that she is responsible for the participation, which for her was a step towards improved health.
– I felt that way, father, this is one of the healthiest things I can do to myself. I have gained a new spark in life in general, and lots of exercise joy. I have not done any stupid things or tried to fix the look in any way, she states.
