US intelligence says Putin ordered Russia to attack Ukraine

WASHINGTONUnited States (US) intelligence has revealed that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has ordered his troops to attack Ukraine . The Moscow army was ready to attack.

That’s according to US intelligence, which has revealed about three-quarters of Moscow’s total troops have been deployed against its neighbour.

Insiders with knowledge of the ongoing crisis told US media that the sheer number of troops now massing near Ukraine suggests an attack may be imminent.

American officials who knew the intelligence data toldCNNMonday (2/21/2022), that 120 of Russia’s 160 Battalion Tactical Groups (BTG) are now within 60 km of Ukraine, a figure representing 75 percent of the country’s main combat units.

The media also claims that there may be nearly 200,000 Russian troops and pro-Moscow separatists stationed in the area, with 35 of the 50 known air defense battalions deployed against Ukraine.

There are also about 500 fighter and fighter-bombers and 50 medium to heavy bombers with the capability to reach Ukraine.

other US media, CBSalso reported that Russian commanders had been ordered to proceed with the invasion, with specific plans being drawn up on how to direct troops on the battlefield.

Foreign Minister Antony Blinken told CBS that the US believes Russia is “moving forward” with the invasion plan.

“Everything we’ve seen tells us that the decision we believe President Putin has made to attack is moving forward,” Blinken said.
