The director of the seven-series art film is Armands Zvirbulis, the producer is Arta Ģiga, and the cinematographer is Gints Bērziņš. Other experienced filmmakers have also contributed to the film. Actors – Madara Zviedre (Saldovere), Diāna Krista Stafecka, Ritvars Logins, Ģirts Krūmiņš, Mārcis Manjakovs, Jurijs Djakonovs and Uldis Dumpis – as well as foreign actors: Aleksejs Gorbunovs (Ukraine), Hrants Tokhatjans (Armenia), Valentija , Yuri Curilo (Russia), Andrei Ilyin (Russia).

“I think the criminal work should be well-packed, well-beaten. I’ve always really enjoyed the old French criminal dramas of the seventies and eighties – Claude Sabrrol and similar authors. was the world that Andris Kolbergs enchanted in his novel, and his novels are very cinematic, and “Look for a Woman”, which is the subject of a multi – series crime drama, is a real masterpiece, with many characters, parallel worlds and storylines. It seems that if Andris wrote a paragraph, it might even be worth a whole series, so we, as the authors of the film, often had to decide what to leave out of it and what to keep for the seven-story series. “We have succeeded and the audience will appreciate our performance,” said the film ‘s director Armands Zvirbulis.

The co-producers of the multi-series film “Criminal Case for Beginners” are LMT, Latvian Television, as well as co-producers from Lithuania – “InScript” – and Russia – “ChBK films”. The project was selected in a competition organized by the National Film Center in 2020 for the creation of high-quality series. The production of the film has also been financially supported by the Lithuanian Film Center and the Latvian State Cultural Capital Fund.

From March 11, the multi-series criminal film will be shown free of charge in the application “LMT Viedtelevīzija” and smarttelevizija.lv, but in the autumn also on LTV1.
