Youtuber Succeeds in Attracting 216,000 Viewers for Live Video of Plane Landing in Hurricane Eunice

LONDON, KOMPAS.com – A YouTuber with a single camera managed to attract a large audience on Friday (18/2/2022) with broadcast live aircraft who tried to land at London’s Heathrow airport in the wind storm Eunice hits England.

The wind carried by Storm Eunice reached an altitude of 122 mph on Friday (18/2/2022).

Train schedules were canceled across much of the south of England. Meanwhile a “red” warning for wind was announced for London for the first time.

Jerry Dyer, YouTube channel operator Big Jet TVset up cameras on the outskirts of Heathrow Airport and broadcast live the plane trying to land that day, met with enthusiastic comments from the audience.

Big Jet TV’s streaming reached 216,000 live viewers at around 13:20 local time on Friday (18/2/2022), far exceeding its usual audience.

Jerry Dyer, who is the founder and video commentator, became an important part of the appeal of Big Jet TV. The comments who can be likened to a sports commentator, propelling his channel to stardom on British social media.

The content may not be suitable for people with a fear of flying to watch. But the YouTube outlet that livestreamed the plane has become one of the most unexpected hits of the moment Hurricane Eunice crash.

Big Jet TV has built a steady audience over the past six years by livestreaming aircraft movements.

As one of Air Algiers’ wobbly flights approached the Heathrow runway on Friday morning (18/2/2022), Dyer commented on the wind and made predictions about whether the plane should abandon its approach and make a “turn”.

“I think it will be difficult. He was shaken there. This is it, this is it. Calm down. He’s down!” he shouted.

Guardian highlight one the comments regarding storms as a final test of pilot skills: “They’ve gone through all of these scenarios in the simulator. British Airways trains their pilots hard and they try their best to simulate these conditions.”

However, according to him, whatever the conditions in the simulation are, of course clean and stable, even the pilot seems to be able to do it while enjoying a cup of coffee with you.

“In the cockpit it was very intense. You have the non-flying pilot read out all the parameters, altitude, speed, all that sort of thing. You have a pilot trying to control the plane, manipulating the throttle, being blown by the wind,” he commented.

“When the winds are really strong, you literally fly sideways… A lot of props should be given to these pilots and everyone else who also works in this industry.”
