European brands are declining, and Asian companies are growing

An analysis of the ACEA report shows that not all brands recorded declines. Interestingly, most Asian companies saw increases. For example, the Hyundai Group recorded a massive growth of 28.7 percent, Mazda improved the result by as much as 17 percent, and Toyota by 9.7 percent. Honda achieved a similar result to Toyota. In January this year, 10.7 percent were registered. more cars with the Honda logo than in the first month of 2021

European and American companies are doing much worse. The Volkswagen group saw a decline of 7 percent. In turn, the BMW Group has to accept a 9.2 percent reduction in the number of registered vehicles. The situation is even more difficult for Mercedes-Benz, which was hit by a decrease of 13.8 percent. The only American brand in the ranking – Ford – recorded a decrease of 18.6%.

Which brands performed the worst?

The most powerful decline for a single brand belonged to Smart, which lost as much as 31.6 percent. Several brands registered over a fifth fewer cars. These include Volvo (-22.3%), Nissan (-22.2%), Jaguar (-23.8%), Fiat (-21.3%) and Seat with Cupra (-21.3%). 6 percent).

How does it look in practice?

We consulted these results with local traders and they all spread their hands because they just don’t have anything to trade. Importers’ yards are empty, and when those who want to hear how long they will have to wait, they quit. In some salons, you have to wait up to a year for the coveted four wheels.

Well-equipped versions are the hardest part. The more a customer wants to have on board, the longer he has to wait for such a car. If the dream vehicle appears in the showroom after 3-4 months, it means that the customer was “lucky” and received the car really “expressly”. In the worst scenarios, we already talk about the dates of receipts with the date of 2023.
