In order to introduce young people to symphonic music, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra is implementing a series of concert series “Symphonic Hits with Goran Gora”. The Latvian singer Goran Gora offers to get acquainted with the most outstanding personalities of academic music and the music created by them in an unconstrained and interesting fact-rich narration, supplemented by the witty video projections of the director Roberts Rubins.
The story about the life and work of the Norwegian composer, pianist and conductor Edward Grieg highlighted the outstanding musician’s desire to celebrate the unaccustomed nature and mythological images of Norway in his compositions in the expression of 19th century romanticism.
“Its imagery and a kind of fairy-tale and imaginary realm is probably the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about some school time and first impressions of Edward Grieg’s music,” said conductor Kaspars Adamsons.
Edvards Grieg’s suite for the Norwegian Dance Orchestra was performed by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Agnese Egliņa played one of the most frequently played piano concerts in the world. At the time, I think he’s so cool about the Norwegian color and put it in the music. “
