Olivier, after a first season in N1, the second looks much more complicated. What is the reason ?
“The first season in N1 had started well, but it stopped quickly, stopped by the pandemic. But a change in regulations this season by the French Federation in terms of the quota of foreign players limited to two has slowed us down in our championship. »
How has the squad evolved compared to last season? ?
“Five foreign players are dismissed from the club; namely the Spaniards Albert Merino and Javier Platero; the Italians Baviera Gaetano (former captain of the Italian junior team and who joined the group at the beginning of January) and Andréa Quaglio (available to the club as a joker) and the Portuguese Damiano Ricardo who evolves with his agreement with the formation of N3. In addition, goalkeeper Léo Delgado, an important piece of the Thionvillois puzzle, left the club to play in the Elite championship in Reims. »
The meeting against Givors promises to be crucial for the rest of the season ?
“We were beaten in the first leg at Givors (13-10) with the absence of point player Mathieu Carré, Yann Minar, Olivier Cortes and Arthur Lebrun. It is necessary to win a first victory before approaching the low group where seven teams will appear in better conditions (only the last at the end of the dams will be demoted). »
