Military exercises continue in several regions of Russia

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not confirm Russia’s information about the withdrawal of troops from the borders, head of the department Oleksiy Reznikov said during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, February 18.

According to him, now there are about 129,000 Russian military near the border, and together with the sea and aviation – about 149,000.

“We expect that several thousand more people will be drawn in the coming days. We also expect that three more ships will approach the Black Sea. Thirdly, simultaneously with the army exercises in Russia, the National Guard exercises are taking place, they are also in our field of attention” , the minister noted.

Reznikov assured that intelligence sees all movements that may pose a potential threat to Ukraine. “We are in constant contact with our international partners and receive confirmation of such information,” he said.

Recall, on the eve of the British Ministry of Defense published a mapwhich shows the possible routes of the Russian army in the event of an invasion of Ukraine.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia would plans to create a pretext for attack to our side.
